Window Screens, Screen Doors & Porch Rescreening

We rescreen window and porch openings, restore mesh in serviceable screen doors, and arrange custom replacement screens through a local manufacturer. For porches, choose rescreening or heavy-duty Florida screen panels. Separate glass and window options can be assessed when you want to extend porch use.

What we do for screens and porches

Window screens: rescreen or replace?

Rescreen when the frame is straight and the corners are solid. We pull the old mesh and spline, install new mesh tight in the frame, and trim it clean. That's the right fix for tears, sagging, brittle mesh and screens that faded in the sun.

Replace when the frame is bent, the corners are broken, or the screen is missing. Our local manufacturing partner makes new screens to the measurements we provide. We measure the openings, confirm the frame and mesh, then fit the finished screens. Frame colors are white, tan, bronze and black.

See the screen options.

Patio and sliding screen doors

We rescreen sliding screen doors when the frame is serviceable. A bent, kinked, cracked or missing frame typically needs a custom replacement from our local manufacturing partner. Send photos of operating problems so we can assess the screen and opening.

Porch rescreening

A screened porch is a set of openings, and each one can be rescreened on its own. We replace torn, sagging and faded panels, or redo the whole porch at once so it all matches.

Our tip for porches with dogs: pet-resistant mesh on the lower panels and screen doors, where paws and noses make contact, and charcoal fiberglass above for the clearest view.

Big openings, done right. Large porch openings are screened tight and even, with the mesh fastened so it doesn't sag.

Florida screen panels

Florida panels are heavy-duty custom screen panels fitted to porch openings. They provide durable insect screening and airflow. They are screen panels, not weather windows or an insulated enclosure.

See porch rescreening for screening systems and installation details.

Glass and windows for extended porch use

For a porch you want to use for more of the year, we can assess a separate glass and window enclosure. Options can include fixed picture glass below, with casement, sliding or double-hung windows above. The suitable combination depends on the existing structure, opening sizes and layout. This is a separate project from Florida screen panels; it does not automatically create a heated or insulated year-round room.

How a screen job works

  1. Send photos or call. Tell us how many windows, doors or porch openings need attention.
  2. We measure. We check each opening, frame and attachment system.
  3. Rescreen or order. We fit new mesh in serviceable frames or order custom screens from our local manufacturing partner.
  4. We install. We fit and check the completed screens and remove old mesh and related waste.

Frequently asked questions

Talk to our team

Can window screens be repaired?

Yes. If the frame is straight, we rescreen it with new mesh and spline.

Can you rescreen a sliding screen door?

Yes, when the existing frame is serviceable. If it is bent, kinked, cracked or missing, we can arrange a custom replacement sliding screen from our local manufacturer.

What's the best screen for a screened-in porch?

Charcoal and gray fiberglass, heavy-duty mesh, Super Screen, pet-resistant mesh and BetterVue visibility mesh are available. We help you choose a mesh that suits the opening, the frame and the way you use it. See the screen options.

How long do porch screens last?

Sun is what wears screen out. Fiberglass mesh commonly lasts around 10 years or more, and porches in full sun wear faster. Replace it when it tears, sags, turns brittle or fades.

What are Florida screen panels?

Florida panels are heavy-duty custom screen panels fitted to porch openings. They provide durable insect screening and airflow. They are screen panels, not weather windows or an insulated enclosure.

Do screen doors keep bugs out?

Intact mesh and a screen door that fits its opening help keep insects out. We assess torn mesh and damaged frames to decide between rescreening and replacement.

How much does it cost to rescreen a porch?

It comes down to the number and size of the openings, the mesh you choose, and whether any framing needs repair. Your estimate is itemized by panel.

Repair first. No pressure.
