Porch Rescreening & Florida Screen Panels

Torn, sagging or faded porch mesh can be replaced while serviceable framing stays in place. We rescreen individual openings or a whole porch, work with spline-track and staple-and-trim systems, and fit heavy-duty Florida screen panels. Glass and window enclosures are a separate option we assess for your porch.

What to look for

When your porch needs rescreening

Porch screens take more weather than any window screen. Rescreen when you see:

Tears and holes

, from pets, kids, branches or furniture

Sagging or bowing screen

that has pulled loose from the framing

Faded, brittle mesh

that cracks when you press it

Gaps at the edges

where the spline or trim has come loose

Insects getting in

even though the screens look whole

You don't have to redo the whole porch. We can repair one or two damaged openings or rescreen every panel so they all match.

Durable screen panels

Florida screen panels

Florida panels are heavy-duty custom screen panels fitted to porch openings. They provide durable insect screening and airflow. They are screen panels, not weather windows or an insulated enclosure.

How it works

How porch rescreening and panels work

  1. Assess and measure.

We check the framing, attachment system, trim, caps and tracks, then measure the openings.
  2. Confirm materials.

We agree on the mesh and any replacement panels, trim or system components.
  3. Rescreen or install.

Our technicians fit the selected screen and assess any porch door included in the job.
  4. Clean up.

We remove and dispose of old mesh, spline and staples.

A full porch rescreen typically takes 1–2 days on site, depending on its size, complexity, access and scaffolding needs.

Your options

Glass and windows for extended porch use

For a porch you want to use for more of the year, we can assess a separate glass and window enclosure. Options can include fixed picture glass below, with casement, sliding or double-hung windows above. The suitable combination depends on the existing structure, opening sizes and layout. This is a separate project from Florida screen panels; it does not automatically create a heated or insulated year-round room.

Your options

Screen-Eze and Screen Tight systems

We work with Screen-Eze and Screen Tight porch screening systems. We assess the caps and tracks before rescreening, and include any replacement components in the estimate.

Read our spring screen and glass checklist for a practical porch inspection list.

Your options

Rescreen or replace porch panels?

Rescreen when the framing and panel frames are straight and solid. Only the mesh changes, and it costs far less.

Replace the panel when a removable screen panel's frame is bent, cracked or missing. New panels are manufactured to the exact size of the opening.

Consider glass and windows separately when you want to extend porch use beyond screening. We assess the structure and layout before recommending an enclosure.

Your options

Porch screen mesh choices

  • Charcoal or gray fiberglass: everyday insect screening for windows, doors and porches.
  • Heavy-duty mesh and Super Screen: stronger screening where durability matters.
  • Pet-resistant mesh: for doors and lower porch panels where pets make contact.
  • BetterVue visibility mesh: for a clearer view through the screen.

You can use pet-resistant mesh on lower panels and doors, with a different mesh above. We confirm the choice for your frame and opening. Compare the options in our screen options.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rescreen a porch?

The estimate depends on the number and size of openings, chosen mesh, trim and attachment-system condition, access and scaffolding. We provide a free, itemized estimate after assessing the porch.

How long does porch rescreening take?

A full porch rescreen typically takes 1–2 days on site. The timing depends on porch size, complexity, access and scaffolding needs.

Should I repair a few panels or rescreen the whole porch?

Repair individual panels when only a few are damaged and the rest are in good shape. Rescreen the whole porch when the mesh is old and faded, so every opening matches.

What are Florida screen panels?

Florida panels are heavy-duty custom screen panels fitted to porch openings. They provide durable insect screening and airflow. They are screen panels, not weather windows or an insulated enclosure.

What is a three-season porch?

A porch with suitable glass and windows can offer more seasonal use than screening alone. We assess the structure and layout; it is not automatically an insulated or heated year-round room.

Can I turn my screened porch into a three-season room?

For a porch you want to use for more of the year, we can assess a separate glass and window enclosure. Options can include fixed picture glass below, with casement, sliding or double-hung windows above. The suitable combination depends on the existing structure, opening sizes and layout. This is a separate project from Florida screen panels; it does not automatically create a heated or insulated year-round room.

Do you have to rebuild a porch to rescreen it?

Usually the serviceable framing stays. We assess posts, rails, trim and the attachment system, and identify damaged components before work starts. Trim may be reused or replaced depending on its condition.

Do you repair porch screen doors?

We assess the existing frame for rescreening. If a new swing screen door is needed, our preferred stocked PCA models are A-100, A-110 and A-500 in white. Other choices can be discussed.
