Custom & Architectural Glass

Custom glass is glass manufactured to the exact size for one piece of furniture or one room: a tabletop, cabinet doors and shelves, an interior glass wall, a stair railing or a wine cellar. Our technicians measure or template on site, order the glass and install it. We work for homeowners, designers and contractors.

How custom glass work goes

  1. Look and measure. We see the space, talk through glass, edges and hardware, and give you a free, itemized estimate. Final measurements happen once the surrounding work is finished: the cabinets are hung, the floor is down, the stairs are built.
  2. Template the odd shapes. Round tables, curves and out-of-square openings get a full-size paper template, so the glass matches the real piece, not a drawing.
  3. Manufactured to the exact size. Tempered glass can't be cut after it's tempered, so every edge, notch and hole is finished first.
  4. Install. Our technicians set the glass, set the hardware and clean up.

Glass color, tint and pattern are covered in glass options. For wall mirrors, antique mirror and mirrored backs, see custom mirrors.

For designers, builders and contractors

We handle the glass scope of your project, measured when your trades are done and installed by our technicians. Send drawings with your inquiry, and see contractors and remodelers for how we work with the trades.

Acoustic glass and secondary interior windows

We assess two approaches to reducing noise from roads, trains, aircraft and other nearby activity: replacing suitable existing glazing with acoustic glass, or fitting a secondary sound-reduction window inside the existing window. The second option can be useful where a condo restricts exterior window changes or the existing frame cannot take the proposed glass, provided there is enough interior space. Suitability and any building approvals must be checked; neither approach guarantees silence.

Frequently asked questions

Talk to our team

Should a glass table top be tempered?

Not every tabletop needs tempered glass. We assess the size, support and intended use before specifying the glass.

What thickness should a glass table top be?

1/4" for a protective top over a wood table or desk, and 3/8" or 1/2" for a tabletop that sits on a pedestal or base.

How much does a custom glass table top cost?

The price comes from the size, shape, thickness, edge and glass color. Send us the shape and measurements and we'll give you a free, itemized estimate.

What glass is used for a wine cellar enclosure?

We review the enclosure, door layout and whether the cellar is cooled before specifying the glass. Include the room drawings and cooling details with your request.

Repair first. No pressure.
